In 2001, our branch carried out a special Library Automation Project with the assistance of the Trillium Foundation, and all our materials are now listed in our searchable library catalogue, which we soon hope to have online. As part of this project, our library staff have prepared a number of Resource Guides to help users locate library materials in different topic areas.
As part of the library automation project, we have set up a
surname database of materials in our library. The surname database includes 3
types of records: family history books and booklets, our vertical file records
of queries and clippings, and a collection of family name files donated to the
library by the late Opal Howey, a local genealogist. If you find a reference to
the name you are searching, you can contact the library for more detailed
information.
The surname finder can be searched alphabetically by clicking on the links
below, or by doing a Site Search.
